Driving All the Way to Travel Inn RV Resort in Elma, Washington

at the clubhouse of theTravel Inn RV Resort in Elma, Washington
Today we did a first! We drove a total of 3 hours, in 2 cars, and met Bill and Carol at their RV campground in Elma, Washington. We got the chance to see '6-room' 37-foot Newmar Mountain Aire RV. It was the first time for us and now we know how these two vagabonds live.

Then we proceeded to the clubhouse, joined two tables near the Valentine Tree, fireplace, and huge TV and had a 'fulfilling' experience.  The food was great: lumpia shanghai, pancit bijon, macaroni salad, vegetable salad, chips and salsa/bean dip, ambrosia, and bread pudding with whipped cream. The company was better.

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet was well-liked and rated a 3.83. It was, as the title suggests, a bittersweet story of a love-struck teen couple (a Japanese, Keiko, and a Chinese, Henry) before, during, and after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It was interesting discussing the book while the AFC finals was on the huge TV!

We decided to meet again on Feb. 18 and the book shall be the best-rated of 5 books nominated. And, of course, a walking tour of the Panama Hotel and Chinatown, the centerpiece of the book we just read is on the list for things to do in the future. There is no end to what we can read, eat, or do, next!
